Questions parents ask
Which class should my child start in?
The one they are in at school. Every class has its own published roadmap, and the free class confirms the fit before you pay anything.
Does my child need coding experience?
No. Classes 4 and 5 start from the ideas underneath code, and every later class assumes only what the one before it taught. Nothing here expects a head start from school.
Do we need a new laptop?
No. Classes 4 to 8 run entirely in a browser, so the family laptop is enough and there is nothing to install. From Class 9 students set up developer tools, and a mentor walks them through it.
What is the difference between a plan and a program?
A plan opens the self-paced material for your child's class. A program adds the live part: sessions with a mentor, marked practicals and a Demo Day.
School exams are coming up. What happens then?
Lessons, labs and practice stay open the whole year, so a fortnight away during half-yearlies or annuals costs nothing. Mentors pick students up in the next session.
How are projects reviewed?
A mentor marks every submission and writes back, and students can revise and resubmit. Each review names the mentor who gave it.
How do you keep children safe?
An Alpha ID and a PIN you manage, with no child email and no password. External tools need your approval, and there is no advertising. Details are on the Child Safety page.
Can I see my child's progress?
Yes. Lessons, labs, projects, marks, mentor feedback and upcoming classes, with email for anything important.
